You currently need to have Mac OSX 10.7 or 10.8 in order to run the YTD Video Downloader for Mac Application. OSX 10.6 support is on the way.
To play videos simply go to the activity tab, select a completed download and click the play button.
The system's default video player should launch automatically and play the selected video.
Please note that depending on your default video player some formats may not be supported.

Some videos from Facebook or Youtube are restricted for different reasons. In this case you have to have an account for that specific site in order to download the video.
Yes, this is possible only for Youtube. After pasting the video URL, click on the "Download quality" menu and select one of the "HD" options (HD 720p, etc.) or "Best available". Best available will download the highest quality option available for that video.
In the Convert tab please click on the blue folder icon next to "Save to" to select the location where the resulting files should be placed. If you check the "Same folder as downloads" box the resulting file will be placed in the same location as the original file.
Yes, in the Convert tab you need to select MP3 from the "Convert video to" dropdown menu.
To convert videos for your iPod touch please use the iPhone conversion option since that is compatible.
